Sean Sullivan Project was created by Sean's mom Denise, as a source of support for parents and families that have lost a child at any age from any cause.

After losing her 21 year old son in 2004, Denise decided to take her pain and use it to be a blessing to others that are hurting and in need of hope.

Denise is a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist who desires to help people recover from the pain that loss has brought into their lives.

On February 27th, Denise married Alan Pedersen and they put their ministries together to form Grief and Beyond, a mulit-media ministry.  They are now traveling together as a part of the Angels Across the USA 2010 Tour... www.AngelsAcrossTheUSA.com

Thank you to all of my dear friends that have been a part of this wonderful group.  You all will always hold a very, very special place in my heart... I couldn't have made through my darkest time of my life without you.

As of July 23, 2010 the Sean Sullivan Project has ended, but my heart will always be with you here in my hometown of Roseville, California

Thank you and much love...

A note from Denise

From my heart to yours:

Early in the morning on September 2004, my 21 year old son, Sean was on his way home when he “disappeared”.  We searched day and night for eight days.  On the ninth day we received a call that would forever change our lives.  Sean and his car were found behind dense brush on the side of the heavily traveled I-80 freeway near Sacramento, only a few miles from home.

I was devastated and didn’t know where to turn. So, shortly after Sean’s death, with the help and support of my family and friends I founded the Sean Sullivan Project Inc. to provide support for families who have lost a child. Over the years we have become a very special family as we reach out to help each other through our grief.

Grief is a long and lonely journey. We can’t take away the pain of others, but we can be an instrument of healing as we extend compassion and understanding to each other’s broken hearts. We can’t change that we have lost our child(ren), but we can choose what we do with our pain. Our physical relationship with our child has ended but our emotional relationship with them will remain as long as we live.

In our group we are able to keep their memories alive.  Each month the Mom’s in our group get together for dinner.  We share our stories, give voice to our pain, and remember our children in a safe and loving place. We also conduct support groups, counseling sessions, annual events and the distribution of gift baskets to newly bereaved families.

In the upcoming year I am looking forward to traveling in ministry with Alan Pedersen as a part of the Angels Across the USA tour.  Alan and I will travel to every state in the US as we endeavor to bring hope and encouragement to thousands of bereaved families. We will be presenting concerts free of charge in support of organizations just like the Sean Sullivan Project Inc.

While I am away the “Mom’s” will continue to get together for dinner on the first Thursday of every month. I will continue to send out newsletters and information about the dinners and upcoming events and will try to make it to as many events as my schedule allows.

I strongly believe when you bring hope and encouragement to others hearts, you too will find healing in your own heart.  I hope you will take advantage of what this wonderful group has to offer.  We are here to support and love each other through this dark tunnel we call grief so that we will find healing and eventually see the sun shine again.

Blessings to you, Denise
